What We Do

We provide general information, administrative assistance, and referrals. We do not provide legal advice and we do not represent anyone before the VA or any military records board unless the individual assisting you is properly accredited or licensed and acting within that scope.

Service Assistance

We help veterans understand VA resources and next steps. Our support is informational and administrative only, and we refer you to VA-accredited representatives or licensed attorneys when needed.

Purple Heart Assistance

We help eligible veterans understand the Purple Heart recognition process and what documents may be needed. We provide administrative help and referrals, and do not provide legal representation.

Social Activities

We host regular gatherings, events, and community activities that bring Purple Heart recipients and veterans together for support, recreation, and shared experiences.

Veteran Camaraderie

A strong brotherhood built on service and sacrifice. We provide a welcoming environment for veterans to connect with others who truly understand what they’ve been through.

ABOUT US

About Us

We are Chapter 0182 of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, a congressionally chartered veterans service organization of combat-wounded U.S. veterans. Based in Indio, we serve Purple Heart recipients and other wounded veterans across the Coachella Valley through fellowship, community support, and veteran-focused assistance.

When a veteran reaches out for help, our role is to provide general information, administrative support, and referrals to the proper accredited representatives or licensed attorneys when needed. We do not provide legal advice and we do not represent veterans before the Department of Veterans Affairs or any Board for Correction/Review of Military Records unless the person assisting is properly accredited or licensed and acting within the scope of that authority.

Our mission is simple: support wounded veterans, strengthen camaraderie, and ensure no wounded veteran stands alone.

Who is eligible to join the Military Order of the Purple Heart?

To qualify, you must be a Purple Heart Medal recipient with honorable or general discharge, or active duty with official orders showing the award.

Our chapter provides community, events, and support here in the Coachella Valley.

Where is your chapter located and how can I get involved?

Our chapter is based at the American Legion, 44200 Sun Gold St, Indio, CA 92201, serving veterans throughout the Coachella Valley. You can get involved by reaching out through our contact form, visiting us at the American Legion, or attending one of our meetings or events.
